W. J. Colville teaches, “The aura of a highly intellectual man or woman, viewed by a clairvoyant, is often distinctly yellow in hue, sometimes of a rich golden color; the effect of such an aura is to stimulate the mental faculties of all who may prove susceptible, to calm the physical emotions, and to regulate the nerves.” I must remind you that his lectures were published in 1909. He continues, “The practice of mental telephony is easily comprehended by analogy, now that Marconi’s simple system of wireless telegraphy is proving abundantly demonstrable.”
Yellow represents creativity, happiness, optimism, intellectualism & expressiveness.
Colville says, “Ether is a comprehensive word, and it will serve very well for our present purpose as we seek to convey something like a definite picture of how thoughts (or their effects) are transmitted from place to place and from intellect to intellect.” Craig Hamilton-Parker, says that yellow, another primary color, represents creativity. And that correlates to my 5th house in which my natal moon can be found. He teaches that yellow, is the color of happiness. This is especially true, he says, if it is a “bright sunflowery yellow.”
The color is associated with cheerfulness, intellectualism, optimism and “a very talkative (and) expressive sort of person,” Craig reports. This seems to match my natal 3rd house where Jupiter, known for both its optimism as well as its expansiveness, is found. But why is it sometimes so hard for mostly pessimistic people to believe that there are people who are mostly optimistic? I remember how two of my supervisors, who sat in the cubicles in front of me at the crisis line, talked about me within earshot, while referring to me as Pollyanna.
Shiny Happy People
Perhaps, that is why I slightly resented the title of the documentary which came out about the Duggars, a family whose cult perimeters overlapped those of my family’s cult. It is not for me to say if the Duggars were really happy when the cameras weren’t running. But as an insider, I know that Shiny Happy People, speaking from a cult perspective, can actually be shiny happy people and still have great big wounds hiding beneath the surface. Both can coexist as evidenced by my aura photo.
Dominant Elements In My Natal Chart
When I discussed other colors, I acknowledged that my Libra and Aquarius placements are represented in part, by the color yellow which stands for air signs. My Gemini IC is also signified by yellow. And my mother, whose sun is in Gemini, is the most optimistic person I’ve ever met. Some years ago, after my aura photo session, I dreamed that my mother gave me a prescription medication bottle on which the label read, “Sunshine Pills.” The dream was such a fitting metaphor. My mother still spreads her sunshine through the ether to all who are susceptible.
As children, my mother awakened us in the morning with her cheerful soprano voice. Often, the song was one originally sung by Doris Day in which she asked, “Will we have rainbows day after day?” Of course, I didn’t know her name until many years later when I looked up the lyrics, “Que sera, sera, whatever will be will be. The future’s not ours to see. Que sera, sera.” I wonder why my father allowed this secular song. I suppose the pull he felt towards the yellow in her aura overrode his rules. Yellow is his favorite color and it was the theme color of their wedding.
